Excavation Site Plate

This plate, crafted from Yeoju red clay sourced by the artist from Icheon, Gyeonggi-do Province in South Korea, underscores the meeting point between our ancestors and our generation, old and new, past and present. Inspired by excavation sites from the provinces of South Korea where history is unearthed back to the surface. Excavation sites are these time capsules, foregrounds of anecdotes of the past, and evidence of traces of humans before us.
