WA-RI-KI Three Tier Box

This box reflects a transformation of the tree after its primary role has ended, extending its life through a different use and presence. Using Japanese lacquer tree wood that would normally be burned, the wood is split with a hatchet, shaped into shallow, dish-like forms, and finished with natural urushi lacquer.
